Sacha Baron Cohen To Guide Simpsons Around Israel


An upcoming episode of the hit animated series "The Simpsons" will be set in Israel, where the family will be guided by a bitter, angry Israeli tour guide voiced by Sacha Baron Cohen.

Several episodes of the show, now entering its 21st season, have dealt with Jewish issues, and even the Middle East conflict over the years.

In the episode, tentatively set to air in the U.S. on March 28, 2010, Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie Simpson find themselves in Israel, and Homer develops Jerusalem Syndrome and becomes convinced he is the messiah.

Never Released Simpson's Game Revealed


In an awesome alternative universe, gamers are enjoying a Simpson's game patterned after The Sims at this very moment.

John Bridge, level designer of Dead Rising 2, has dropped a bunch of details on the long-dead project on his blog.

He posts:

Another game that went through lots of hoops before finally tanking was a Sims inspired version of the Simpsons that focused on Homer.  You played the role of Jeebus, getting him to do your bidding.

Aye Carumba! The Simpsons Get A Makeover For African Show


No, there's nothing wrong with your eyes. These are the Simpsons - just a little less yellow than usual.

For the first time in more than two decades, Homer and his family have been given a make-over.

At the behest of advertisers, the family have been turned into Angolans ahead of the shows first airing in the African continent.

Angolan advertising agency Executive Center have taken an original animated promotional shot of Bart, Homer, Maggie Lisa and Marge sitting together on a couch and altered it to show them as Africans.

Simpsons' 12th Season Abounds With Movie References


The 12th season of The Simpsons, which arrives on DVD this week, marked the '80s-spawned show's entrance to the 21st century. The first episode of the new millennium was an Emmy-winning whopper called HOMR.

The title can be seen as a play on WOPR, the supercomputer in the 1983 movie WarGames, but the episode's storyline comes from the 1968 film Charly, which was remade in 2000 as the name of the book on which it was based, Flowers for Algernon.

That's a fair bit of homage already, but the typical 22-minute Simpsons episode packs in more movie references than a similar chunk of Quentin Tarantino.

The Simpsons Coming To Sunderland


TV favourites Bart and Homer Simpson are to make a special appearance in Sunderland.

Youngsters are being encouraged to visit the free event on Sunday, August 30, to meet the stars and have their pictures taken with them between 11am and 4pm at various locations in the city centre.

Bart and Homer will be out and about at High Street West, near M&S, between 11am and 11.40am, Park Lane, noon to 12.40pm, Sunniside Gardens, 1.30pm to 2.10pm, Market Square, 2.30pm to 3.10pm, and Lampton Street, near the cinema, 3.30pm to 4pm.
