Top 10 'Simpsons' Prank Calls

1. "Uh, is I.P. Freely here? Hey, everybody! I.P. Freely!"

"Listen to me, you lousy bum, when I get ahold of you, you're dead. I swear, I'm gonna slice your heart in half!"

2. "Hey, is there a Butz here? Seymour Butz? Hey, everybody, I wanna Seymour Butz!"

Marge Simpson Enjoys Her First Teabagging In Halo

The twentieth season of Matt Groening's The Simpsons introduces the corpse-desecrating act of "teabagging" to the stalwart Simpsons fan in a not-so-subtle nod to Bungie's Halo 2, complete with mostly accurate Xbox controllers.

That near-accuracy may lead some to speculate that the grinding of one's digital undercarriage on the armored cadaver of a fallen foe is product placement. But the inaccuracies and, we assume, the corporate shying away from publicizing virtual ball-dropping online, would make me think this is just a silly reference.

And such a topical one! I guess we can move the trend marker for "Teabagging in Halo" on the downward trajectory of its lifespan, just to the right of the shark fin.

Ellen Page Gets Animated For 'The Simpsons'

Halifax-born Ellen Page was a guest on The Simpsons this week, taking on the animated role of Alaska Nebraska - clearly spoofing Miley Cyrus’ character Hannah Montana.

In the episode, titled “Waverly Hills 9021-Do’h”, Lisa Simpson makes false claims about an existing friendship between her and Ellen’s Alaska character. In the end, the spiky haired Simpson tracks down her pop star hero for help, but discovers that Alaska’s true self is far from teen sunshine.

The role is spot on for Ellen, who first convinced audiences of her affinity for teen angst in her Oscar nominated role as Juno MacGuff. When chatting with actress Yeardley Smith, who plays the voice of Lisa Simpson, Ellen revealed that, “I’m a massive fan of The Simpsons and to be here, doing this is very surreal.”

Clash Of The Toons

The on-air tit-for-tat filtering on to Family Guy and The Simpsons has Michael Idato fascinated.

IN AN episode of The Simpsons that aired almost a decade ago, an animated Betty White (Golden Girls) begged viewers to support the Fox network. Standing beside a TV displaying the title card from The Simpsons' new stablemate, Family Guy, she pleaded with viewers to keep "crude, low-brow programming" on air.

The sting in the gag was a cash pledge phoned in from Bart Simpson. "You've saved my network!" exclaimed an animated Rupert Murdoch. "Wouldn't be the first time," Bart replied.
