'Simpsons' Mania At Post Office

The culture killjoys might consider it Much Apu About Nothing, but the new stamps honoring "The Simpsons" mark the dysfunctional five's latest Brush With Greatness.

Cowabunga, dude!

But the U.S. Postal Service isn't just issuing 44-cent stamps featuring Homer, Marge, Lisa, Bart and Maggie on May 7 but also instigating a Homerpalooza.

"Vote Early and Often: It's the American Way," the Postal Service news release says, encouraging the masses to pick their favorite among the fab five.

The Simpsons Goes HD Widescreen On Ten Next Week

TEN reckons The Simpsons will air for the first time in widescreen from 8pm Wednesday April 29th.

It begins with the revamp of the opening credits which has been widely seen on YouTube for some time.

Unfortunately what TEN fails to mention is that the long-running series also appears for the first time in  high-definition.

Without TEN HD, the network has nowhere to show the HD, unless it opts to put it on its 24 hour sports channel, ONE.

Doh.

Review -- The Simpsons: "Eeny Teeny Mya, Moe"

A glorious episode in a season that shines brightly, “Eeny Teeny Mya, Moe” manages to pack genuine emotion and good character development into a single solid episode.

Moe episodes – in later seasons, at least – have always been high points in the show’s run; here, he’s realistically lonely and pathetic, but totally sympathetic. His inability to recognize social cues once again does him in.As in “Moe Baby Blues”, whenever Moe makes a connection to the world and takes another step forward as a human being, he generates rooting value.

The Simpsons Get Stamped!

America's favourite dysfunctional family, The Simpsons, is set to appear on postage stamps.

The Postal Service has announced that the 44-cent first-class stamps, designed by show creator Matt Groening, will feature the cartoon characters of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie Simpson.

"The timing couldn't be better as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the show," The New York Daily News quoted Elie Dekel, executive vice president at Fox, as saying.

Fox has been broadcasting The Simpsons since 1990, making it the longest-running prime time comedy in television history.

The milestone is being marked with a series of events titled "Best. 20 Years. Ever."

The Postal Service will preview the stamps on the morning of April 9.
