'Simpsons' In Stone In Hollywood On Hold

Even "The Simpsons" aren't immune to the economic slowdown.

Plans to immortalize the animated sitcom family in granite and possibly give them a home in the Hollywood neighborhood have been put on hold.

The statue is a project of KPDX (49), which wanted to commemorate two anniversaries this year -- 20 years of airing the show since it began in 1989 and the station's 25 years of operation.

Craft Village UK revamps Simpsons Gift Range

Craft Village UK has launched a brand new package design for its range of soap stone sculptures featuring characters from The Simpsons. Hand crafted in the remote village of Tabaka in Kenya, the products are a major source of income for the inhabitants, who are renowned for their stone sculpting skills.

The range consists of 12 intricately carved busts, each standing approximately 12cm high, unique in colour and contour, and signed by the individual carver. After an original soft-launch in 2007, the product packaging has been redesigned and this year sees the new launch of the soapstone figures. The packaging has been re-designed to reflect the ethical nature of this range and Craft Village UK is now an accredited provisional member of the World Fair Trade Organistion.

s20e12 - No Loan Again, Naturally

Info: When the adjustable rate on Homer and Marge's mortgage resets at more than they can afford, they must put their home up for sale. Good Samaritan Ned Flanders buys the house and rents it out to them at an affordable rate. But Homer pushes his luck too far when he takes advantage of Ned's generous land lording duties.

Blackboard: I will not have fun with educational toys.

Couch Gag: The family heads out to a "couch ranch" to purchase a new one after coming home to discover the old one dead. After the new couch bucks off Homer, the rest of the family "tames" it.

Billboard Gag: Moe's Tavern. Now With Electricity!

Ralph: I see stars.

11 Subtleties I Like In the New Simpsons Opening Sequence

On Sunday night's episode of "The Simpsons", the show rolled out it's first all-out overhaul of the credits since, well, the 1980s.

And while there's some stuff I didn't love (like Marge's car actually hitting Homer and a random bird flying across the opening clouds), there were a lot of subtleties that I really liked.

Here are 11 pictures of those subtle moments I liked... and, in most cases, I have them accompanied by a screen grab of the same moment in the old "Simpsons" opening. Enjoy.

Marge Simpson Indulges In Lesbian Kiss

In Sunday's episode of the TV show, which was broadcast in the United States, viewers got to witness Marge kissing an attractive female friend on the lips. The action took place in the Simpson's living room, in Springfield, as her husband Homer looked on.

However, the lingering kiss was, in fact, all a figment of her husband Homer's imagination.

This isn't the first time the long-running cartoon series has explored issues of sexuality.
